Construction Nightmare!

Matt's convinced that INDOT hates us. There is only one exit out of our subdivision - no big deal. However, it becomes a problem when all three roads that you must take to get anywhere are all under constructin AT THE SAME TIME! Leaving our division you have to go left or right to catch a road north. Well, the first road to the left has the intersection (Raceway & Morris) shut down because they are putting in a roundabout. The first road to the right (Dan Jones & Morris) is also undergoing construction for a stupid roundabout. This one is not entirely shut down but still a headache. So, then if you decide to go south so you can come back north - think again... US 40 is also under construction at where you will come out at - for the new Ronald Reagan Parkway. There are no little shortcuts or country roads to take to get around it either - those are all part of the construction as well. We seriously are trapped by it. 4o has been the worst when it goes down to one lane each direction at rush hour. Eesh! Plus, that is the way I must go to get to and from work (although seriously considering going around the airport and coming up a longer way to avoid the mess). Today on the way home, my normal little side road is no longer. They have it completely shut down and are forcing you to now use the new parkway - which is odd since today was the first time that you could use it. It's just about 500 ft. over from the little road so you feel like you missed your turn and the stoplights being moved are a little confusing but we will get used to it. Hopefully that one is almost done - we know the other two are going to take a few months (at least - do they ever run on schedule?!)

I can't totally feel your daily pain, but I went to metropolis yesterday and got so turned around trying to get home because of all this construction it was maddening...I can't believe you have to deal with it everyday...and speaking from using the roundabouts up north...they blow and I can't believe Avon thinks this is a solution!
