OUCH!

I woke up yesterday feeling a little blah and went in late to work. I was only able to stay at work for about 3 hours. I was sitting there and started noticing a little pain in my back. Within about ten minutes, the pain was to the point where I decided that I was not staying at work and headed home for the day. By the time I got home (granted it is a 5-10 minute drive), I was ready to drive myself straight to the hospital. I felt like someone had shot my in the lower back. It hurt! As soon as I walked in the door, I called the Dr's office only to find out that my new cyst is rupturing! OUCH! I took the IB 800mg that I still had and that knocked just enough of the edge off to stop the shakiness that I had going on. I couldn't lay down. I couldn't sit. Nothing I did was comfortable. I finally decided to try a hot bath - didn't really help much either. About 2-2.5 hours of excruciating pain - seriously worse than any pain that I've felt before including post op - I laid down and crashed for three hours. I woke up in a sweat but the pain was all gone. Not fun by any stretch of the imagination but I am feeling so much better this morning. It is funny how my body reacts when a cyst is there - very run down, tired, nauseous. As soon as it is gone, I feel amazing and have energy again.

Oh, and we are still waiting for the oncologist to get back with my Dr. about what she thinks the new cyst is and what she wants to do. Is something exposed now that it is no longer protected by the cyst or was a different type completely? I'm starting to wonder if it wasn't a different type because the other one got much larger and never ruptured. It didn't take much for this one to decide to burst.

Also, I'm hoping the blog will get back to more than just my medical updates. I'm staying pretty busy with school right now though and don't feel like much else is going on. We are heading back north again this weekend.
