Another Devour Downtown Evening

We love the Devour Downtown, especially because it allows us to get together with good friends. This is definitely something that we have in our minds for every winter and summer.

This round we started off with dinner at Harry & Izzy's. The food was alright but nothing that we loved (heard that comment from a few others as well). It was a good time to see friends that we haven't seeen in awhile - especially Doug & Christine. Thanks guys for coming all the way from Chicago and still being on time :)

We then met Tyson and friends at the fairgrounds for Roller Derby. I have never witnessed roller derby before, Matt remembers watching it on TV when he was younger. It was a good time. Once I think I understood what was going on, it became better. The belly dancing during the intermissions was a little interesting however.

Afterwards we made a pit stop at The Rathskellar and then finished the night off at Nicky Blaine's. I am a fan of Nicky Blaine's. Yes, it is smoky from the cigars but nothing that I can't handle for one night every now and then. Plus, I found my new favorite drink. It is very yummy! If you know me, you know that I rarely drink - which leads to me never really knowing what I want when I do. Thanks for Nicky's for solving that with this wonderful option that tastes somewhat like a banana laffy taffy (and no alcohol flavor).

Carnaval
Blue Curacao, crème de banana, orange juice and a splash of sour

We look forward to the next time!
