Monkey Bread

Oooey Gooey Monkey Bread. This stuff is so yummy! I remember having it as a kid and LOVING it - the stickiness, the sweetness, everything. Part of the reason I think it is still so yummy - just because of the memories that it brings back.


I had planned on making some while the girls were here but that just didn't work out. Plus who knows if Kimberly would have loved them having all of that sugar :)

Today was the day. Matt has been asking for "monkey bites" (because apparently he can't remember monkey bread!) so I went for it. I used this recipe - dividing everything by three because there is just the two of us and we don't need to gain a gazillion pounds in one night. Nor be in a sugar coma. Next time I do think that I would make a bit more of the sweet, sticky topping. So - Matt had his first monkey bread experience and really enjoyed it. I have a feeling I will be making these a little more often but not too often.
