34 weeks

How Far Along: 34 weeks 2 days
Size of baby: cantaloupe ~ 4.75 pounds, 18 inches long
Total Weight Gain/Loss: +19 pounds This should teach me to not say anything about my weight holding steady again. All in all though, I'm doing pretty well.
Maternity Clothes: Of course! The above top is one of the ones from Lauren. I love it because I only have to button one or two in the middle and then my belly is free still. Honestly, I haven't tried it buttoned all the way but I'm sure it may work still - though only slightly.
Movement: Starting to slow down on his activity level and has some sleepy days here and there. I just think he's running out of room. He likes to shift his whole body to one side and that hurts sometimes. It also is becoming uncomfortable to sit upright for long periods of time because that seems to just push him up into my lungs more.
Sleep: Ugh - this has been my battle this week. Up fifty billion times a night to go to the restroom, can't fall asleep, can't get comfortable, can't wake up. It's all a battle it feels like. A friend described it as feeling like a rotisserie chicken when attempting to turn over...I'd say that's pretty accurate.
Symptoms: exhaustion, hunger, dry eyes, aching hips, and slightly high'ish blood pressure, slight swelling
What I miss: decent sleeping and feeling like I can get my thirst quenched
Cravings: Slushies - water doesn't seem to do the trick but icy stuff does.
Best Moment this week: We've had a busy busy week with several good things.

- Of course, the baby shower was great and I love seeing how loved our little guy is already.

- Indy Kids Consignment sale. We hit this up last week and picked up several pieces of clothes for him (newborn through 12 months). I think Matt may have liked this more than I did as he just started putting stuff in the bag without showing me. Of course, many of the clothes are baseball/sports themed but they were just too cute to resist.

- Date night to IU to see Ron White. I got Matt tickets to his show for Valentine's day and we both had a good time. I think I even laughed continuously (and Matt didn't heckle). Little guy either enjoyed the show as well or was annoyed with all my laughing because he kept hitting me throughout. Matt even got to feel him for a decent amount of time.

- Another dr's appointment :( It was a regularly scheduled one but my blood pressure was slightly high'ish again (138/90) so I have to be back again tomorrow instead of the two week interval. They're keeping an eye on me for pre-eclampsia now. So far so good as far as I know. No protein in urine yet. We also found out that baby is laying transverse. It's still a little early and he has a few weeks to get his butt into position before we become concerned.

- Richard and Joyce came down to stay the night. We aren't making a trip back north before baby arrives and they had yet to see the nursery. Matt also showed them where the hospital was so they know where to go now when the big day arrives.

- Dinner with some ladies from the mom's group. Joe's Crab Shack - yum!

- And finally, we had our breastfeeding class last night. We were both glad that we went and found it to be informative. I'm glad that Matt is a super supportive husband/dad and is involved in all of that.

Hang in there lady you are doing great! Also, for your BP I would drink as much water as you can. I found that when my BP went up I was actually dehydrated and it helped a lot to drink more. It also surprisingly helps with the swelling, it doesn't make sense but it does. You are doing great on your weight, I gained about 14 pounds of water weight at the end which wasn't cool, but it all came right off within the first two weeks after Tanner came. He will be here soon, so rest up and drink tons of water.

Oh my....I could not get enough ice towards the end. That is so funny. I craved Sonics ice in particular. I could eat a extra large cup of ice in know time flat.

You are almost to the finish line.Soon!

As far as your weight goes....you are toally on track. It comes off easy. Especially with breast feeding. I have 4 lbs to go. It will come off. I did not think it would and I was scared too. Just try not to be hard on yourself and just enjoy the baby. The rest will fall into place.
