21 weeks

How Far Along: 21 weeks. Not doing the best with keeping up with these weekly updates. Whoops!

Size of baby: a carrot ~ 3/4 of a pound and 10.5 inches in length

Total Weight Gain/Loss: +6 lbs. thankfully the weight gain has definitely slowed.

Maternity Clothes: Mostly. I do like the BeBand and being able to wear pre-pregnancy jeans with that. Tops are mostly all maternity or Matt t-shirts now.

Movement: Yep. The little flutters are becoming more frequent and noticeable. They don't seem to be full on kicks or jabs yet, or maybe just not strong enough yet, but definitely feels like little one is doing lots of flips.

Sleep: This seems to be going well. Hugh is sleeping through the night again so that means that I can too. Sometimes I wake up around 2 or 3am to go to the bathroom but sometimes not. Honestly though, I can't complain.

Symptoms: a growing belly that sometimes feels much bigger than it is, peeing often, and baby movements :)

What I miss: all in all, I'm feeling pretty good. Still the gagging while brushing my teeth things is annoying but not life-ending.

Cravings: the most random things hit me at the most random times. Iced tea (unsweetened) sounds good often. The other morning I woke up with the very specific craving of two thin mints smooshed together with Oreo cream in the middle, all dipped in fudge. Oh, and skittles. Thankfully after I got the skittles, that one ended.

Best Moment this week since last update: finding out that our little one looks great and that she is a GIRL! Of course, seeing her sweet face is a plus too :)

We also have a tentative c-section date of February 8, 2013. I'd been going back and forth between having a repeat c-section or attempting VBAC. I really wanted to try the VBAC route. Unfortunately, as I've shared my ovarian issues along the journey (right ovarian tumor removed, it returned, whole ovary/tube/returned tumor removed then, found cyst on left ovary during c-section with Hugh that was removed), we have discovered that I have yet another something on my left ovary. Ugh! So, a c-section with a hands on look at the new thing (cyst/tumor/whatever it is) and removal is probably the best option. I'm all about getting it done in one shot instead of the idea of facing a surgery sometime in the future with a toddler and a newborn. Our best intended plans don't always work out.
