Version scheduled
We found out today that not only is our little guy not in the correct position, he's not even in the transverse position anymore that we thought he was. We swear on Wednesday that his head seemed to be in my left hip. Now booger has completely flipped and is breech. His head is right under my left ribs. Ugh! So, we will be heading to the hospital on Monday to attempt a version.
The doctor didn't necessarily seem hopeful that it would work but it is worth a shot. They will give me a shot of terbutaline to relax my uterus, put baby on the monitors and ultrasound, and have two doctors attempt to maneuver him into the position that we want him to be in for delivery. Hopefully, he'll flip! If he does not flip (or does but doesn't stay put), we will then be doing a c-section at 39 weeks. We have not scheduled that yet but I'd assume that if he doesn't flip, when we go back for the next appointment the end of next week that we'd find out that date.
I'm comfortable with trying the version. If there isn't really any harm - I have a GREAT doctor and he'll be monitored - then why not try to avoid a c-section. I'll only be a day shy of full-term when we attempt the version as well so if for any reason things didn't go smoothly (baby experienced distress or my water breaks), he can be safely delivered via c-section that day. Hopefully, that is not the case though because I'm not sure I'm ready to be having a baby Monday. Regardless, it isn't much longer now though.
Oh, they also have him measuring a week ahead with a 38 week sized head. YIKES! They estimate him to currently be 7lbs 2oz - though I know these numbers aren't necessarily very accurate this late in the game.
